Sparkdoveseyes Days thru the Knitting Glass Episode
Thanks for stopping by,
I am thoroughly enjoying my remade sweater, so warm ...
This week my hands were soooo... sore Hubby says my laptop keyboard is to blame, it slowed knitting up considerably .
The Workday Scarf shown here is now :-
The Wedding scarf now
It is actually a custard color and is so hard I have reverted to writing out each line on an A4 to try to keep from undoing and redoing so often... hope it works it is a gorgeous pattern even DH likes it and he is not easily impressed :)
Left side started for the Chanel jacket and pocket inners finished.
Feather and Fan vest has grown
Today is a peaceful day ... have skyped with DD and looking forward to her visit... room ready, toys and knitting ready for her to take home. Food in freezer....heart ready :)
Peace comes from within and flows out like a river ... peace restored :)

Sleep well...Christine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by :)Deb
ReplyDeleteI know you are excited to see your DD. Can't blame you. Love all of the colors!
ReplyDeleteThanks it will be great ... seems likely this time :) hugs to you
ReplyDeleteLoved your comments here and on AGAM:TM Google Docs about peace. And the restoration of peace after a period of upheaval and emotion. Accepting the upset. letting it flow, letting it go. Your knitting is amazingly complex and colourful: life, too!!
ReplyDeleteSo true... it has taken awhile but peace flows again.
DeleteLOL π at the cat not on the table!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your handiwork. The cardigan is gorgeous!
Plan to add you to my reading list. I’ve been having trouble with posting comments here and on the daily checkin...hm, maybe it’s the device?
Oh, I see it’s a pullover! I have serious sweater envy; I love those colors!
DeleteThanks for taking time to stop by and read my blog :) appreciate it .
DeleteI can see where the intricacies and record keeping of your stitches keeps you from eating while you work! How many times have I had to take out some stitches and start over a row to get the pattern back in my head? Too many!
ReplyDeleteFull hearts and (slightly) full bellies in the future will be great! My neighbor Ruth's daughter was finally able to come here from France. It's been two years with COVID lockdown on both sides of the pond and Ruth turns 98 next week. I was so worried her daughter would not get here before her capacities diminished. She's bright as a button!
It has been hard for so many, coming up to six years since I have seen DD face to face, a long time especially with the thought of getting sick . I will appreciate the hugs and hold tight for the week.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to Ruth and her daughter :)
Ok, now you have me intrigued! So intrigued I’m going to try a washcloth in that pattern!
ReplyDeleteThe resolution of the photo of your written instructions here is a little hard for me to make out - I think it says,
“K3 * K1, K2tog, YO, K1, YO, ssk, K3, K2tog, YO, K3, rep to last 4 k *“
Is that right?
So I tried Googling and out popped this!

(You probably already shared that link with us earlier. Color me unobservant. Sorry π¬)
You have gotten me to pick up my needles again π. Depending on the perspective that either makes you a good influence π or a bad influence π I have other things I’m *supposed* to be doing, but knitting is so *fun.*. Hahaha I love the math and puzzles in it. And as an activity it is so soothing. I spent a lot of time knitting last year. It was a pretty anxious time.
PS Just sent you an email with my first 12 rows. Geez, it takes a while, before it looks like much of anything... I can see why you kept restarting! π
DeleteIt is great you are having a go yours looks perfect :) it is a tough one to master but that is the fun for me.
DeleteI didn't share the link you found the right one though :)
I do have one I gave up on completely as it was wrong every row if you want a puzzle ? smile
I like the peace of being in my own space, quiet and peacefully knitting away. I am making some things for me after knitting to give away for so long .
Sure, gimme another challenge after I’ve mangled this Washcloth Swatch! π
DeleteThat’s what cheap cotton is for! EXPERIMENTS! π

PS Interesting that so few have attempted this on Ravelry...

Finished: 25
In progress: 36
Frogged: 4
Ha I'm not surprised :)
DeleteOk this one is called
Branching Out by Susan Pierce Lawrence
I tried it before Wedding Shawl and got about 6 rows in,then over and over and over.... maybe now with my new found patience and writing out each page idea (Thanks Phil) I will come back to it too.
It's another lacy one :) let me know :)
I am going to make the Wedding Shawl finished 26 though I don't go on ravelry :)
Your blog has been added to my reading list so I don't miss a post. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour work is absolutely gorgeous!
Six years! Sleep will be elusive as you and DD spend the week catching up on those hugs. I can only imagine your anticipation at seeing her face to face after all those years.
Hugs ~ Jeanne
Thanks Jeanne, I say it is my happy place and I have knitted for others over the last few years and given away a lot and am now making a few things for me.

Your knitting has gotten so good! That pattern for the wedding scarf is so dainty, looks classy but also looks like you would need to treat it with kindness!
ReplyDeleteBec's visit is getting close!! Less than a week!!
Try to enjoy your week and not get too anxious waiting on your baby girl to arrive!

Thanks Ken you are a great friend caring about me ... hoping the Summer is being kind to your area and not too many fires around.

Don't you just love the peace of being ready for that DD visit? Enjoy every minute! Your work is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments, it will be so wonderful to see her face to face and to get that hug we both long for. I told Hubby I might have to sleep in her bed so we can talk all night like teenagers :)
DeleteOh your knitting is so beautiful. I never could master that. Mine were always too tight. Got the hang of crochet and stitchery but can’t anymore because of my eyesight.
ReplyDeleteYour DD’s hugs will refresh both your souls. It’s like feeling a miracle was over you. So glad she is persistent to get there.
Thanks yes she is like her Dad in that she doesn't give up, I am learning the skill taking on harder patterns with my knitting and I keep at it unless it loses its joy...

ReplyDeleteHey Dee thanks for stopping by hugs lovely lady :), with the heat over there you will be enjoying your swimming I'm sure :)
ReplyDeleteI have found your blog at last, Christine.
ReplyDeleteI bet you could make a living making these they are so good.
